Our History and Future Mission

N. Edward Emery CPA t/a Emery CPA Tax & Accounting PLLC was established over 30 years ago in the Western Branch area of Chesapeake and Portsmouth. In January 2012 the practice was sold to F. Mark Robertson, CPA. In 2014 Ed Emery moved to Williamsburg, VA, and formed Emery CPA-Tax Accounting, PLLC and opened a new office at 1321 Jamestown Road, Suite 202 in the Jamestown Office Park.

I invite you to visit my office at your convenience by appointment only. My industry experience includes supervising accounting departments for small & large companies, directing budgets and finance in the healthcare industry as well as bank & healthcare auditing. As a practicing CPA for over 30 years, Individual and business tax preparation have traditionally been my service priorities. My objective going forward is to provide reliable service to my clients, be responsive to their needs and provide quality professional services in a timely manner.

I will continue to use my 30 years of tax experience to provide insightful advice to enable my clients to make informed decisions. This is my primary goal as a trusted advisor and tax professional. I know that it is extremely important to continually stay educated and current to be able to provide my clients with cutting-edge technical advice and reliable tax and financial services.

Our Software

The firm uses Intuit Premiere Accounting Software to manage clients’ business accounting and payroll needs. The firm also has a contractual license with Drake Software to process and file client tax returns. Drake Software has consistently been rated by CPAs to be one of the top four professional tax programs used over the past ten years.

My Credentials

I have been a member in good standing with the Virginia Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs for 30 years and hold Bachelor Degrees in both Accounting and Finance from Fla Atlantic University and Old Dominion University. (Magna Cum Laude).
